Facebook Update June 2, 2018:
Hey friends, here's an update on Ed. Yesterday we met with the surgeon and he removed the 27 staples from his noggin. He's healing very well. We unfortunately learned that the cancerous tumor was a high grade, level 4 tumor, the most aggressive. This of course was not the news we wanted to hear. So step one was to remove the tumor which was done. Step two will now be to "hit it hard" with radiation and some chemo to hopefully blast out all those nasty cancerous cells that may be lingering. He will undergo radiation Monday through Friday for six weeks. We meet with the oncologist this Tuesday to make a plan for what this all looks like. This is all the detailed information that I have at this time.
“High grade. Level 4. Most aggressive. Glioblastoma.”
Ed continues to blow me away with his strength and positive spirit. I already knew he was an amazing man, but when faced with tough times, we can get completely pissed at what we've been dealt, or have a hopeful outlook and use it for the good... I believe his outlook on this crappy situation will help him heal from this. This is sudden, shocking, scary, and super sad but we have hope, faith, love and lots of joy in our life to get us through this. We will have our pissed off moments I'm sure.
Thank you for all the love and support, we will continue to lean on you as he battles through this. We have a lot to be thankful for, most of which is the community of amazing people that surround us and our boys. Today Ed's feeling up to watching both our boys play soccer, so we're super thankful for that. One day at a time.
Facebook Update June 10, 2018:
Hi all! It’s been a while, but I’m doing great. My brain surgery went well, and they left the parts that make me “me”, so sorry or yay, depending on how you feel about that. : ) I have pretty good energy right now but in a week or so will be starting my radiation and chemo treatment, so not sure how I’ll be feeling then.
Our heartfelt thanks to all of our amazing family, friends and bosses for their continued support and love. It has come in so many ways: wonderful meals and snacks, cards and words of hope, encouragement and prayer and short visits. We are so blessed by you all, please accept this in lieu of individual thanks. I’m looking forward to spending quality time with my uplifting family and friends, so reach out to me and we’ll make something work.

My handsome breakfast date. He’s showing me what true strength and positivity really look like. Sometimes it annoys me because I’m sad and pissed off at times, but mostly it encourages me and gives us all hope during a time when my little family needs it most. Love you hubby so much. You’re my rock. ❤️💋
